... Or I should say am in Jackson, TN this week. As we all know 2020 was not the best year for travel. I was only able to take about 2 work trips and one of them was driving instead of flying.
It really seems like things are on the cusp of getting "normal" again but there are still issues in travel. I like taking red-eyes when flying West to East and it turns out getting in late to a city like Memphis the rental car stations are all closed by 11PM and the taxis/ubers were not existent on a Sunday morning at 1AM. I had to do some quick travel switch-a-roos and grab a hotel near the airport so I would have a place to sleep. The one thing I noticed about Memphis is their airport logo. I mean look at this thing of beauty.
The person that came up with this deserves the kudos. The logo alone makes me want to fly into Memphis just to hang out.
One of the things I love about traveling is the amount of the time I get to catch up on reading. No I am not a huge book reader but I love magazines. In particular I love tech/nerd/Linux magazines. I usually take 1 or 2 trips to Barns and Nobel every month but I don't think I purchased a single magazine in all of 2020. It was a very sad year for the news stand.
Alright that is it for now and I think I met my daily goal of putting up some stories. They may not be fabulous but they are whats going on in my day-to-day.
Take care,
Eric
