Default Programs

Just a list of the default Apps I run on most of my systems

apt install vim tmux git build-essential ffmpeg signal-desktop curl net-tools cherrytree vlc

I think some of these are

• vim - the ubiquitous text editor. Once I used VI I was never able to convert myself to EMACS.
• tmux - tmux is a terminal multiplexer.
• git - free and open source distributed version control system designed to handle everything from small to very large projects with speed and efficiency.
• build-essential - old habits die hard.
• ffmpeg - the Swiss Army knife of video.
• signal-desktop - secured messenger not controlled by Google/Microsoft or other big tech.
• curl - “is used daily by virtually every Internet-using human on the globe.”
• net-tools
• dnsutils
• cherrytree - My favorite note taking apps
• vlc - free and open source cross-platform multimedia player and framework that plays most multimedia files
